Yes, I know. It has been a month since I last posted here and I am guilty of a very heinous blog-crime which is... not blogging. I myself am very surprised to see that I haven't blogged for nearly a month already. Noticing that my last blog was very heart breaking, most of you might have thought I have committed suicide or something already.
What kept me? No, I didn't have bouts of depressions nor did my sanity retreated already because of my love problems. And absolutely, I was not discovered by a talent agent to be a matinee idol because of my short stint at Dong Puno live. So what kept me? One word (er, more of a compound word):
Job-hunting.
Yes. This boy is indeed a man. I am now at this stage where I need to earn money. I am now at the stage where the country's present fiscal crisis pushed me to look for a source where to get my daily bread.
I am yet to graduate this second semester. However, I only have one subject left. This means I have lots of time in my hands this coming semester and I have to make it productive. Others, to make their time productive, would enroll on special classes like ballet classes, singing classes or the like. Others would go into charity work and start their paths to sainthood. But me, I wanted to make myself productive by earning money. I am already 23 years old and I still have to earn my first million. Guess I have to start now.
So what work am I considering right now? Of course, I have to join the country's fast growing and very dynamic industry, which if you'll ask me, is one of the few reasons why our country is still financially alive, namely, the call center industry.
Others are criticizing me for entering such a field. They said that a call center job is for people who were left out and desperate, that a call center job is a mind-numbing and mind-stagnating experience that is fit only for people without ambitions or just lack of guts to achieve their ambitions.
Ah, shut up people. Show me first the first million you've earned before you go to criticize this job. If you still don't have any, then just shut-up, you good for nothing intellectual elitists.
I have a very big dilemma right now. I dont konw what call center outfit I am to apply for... I have been browsing forums and I talked with some of my friends who are in the industry... But then again, I still can't decide what company to apply for. I applied for some already, and I passed them all (I'm not bragging, but I did!) to the point of contract sigining. Here are those companies:
I tried PeopleSupport, but I have to turn them down because they are only extending part-time job for undergraduates like me. (Duh! I only have one subject left!!!)
I went to Convergys, but I declined because their schedule are not flexible. They may make me rich, but for me, studies goes first.
I declined Ambergris because the contract and terms they are extending to me is very lame and I must say it is sleazy to have those hidden clauses in their contract. The Moral lesson: Read the contract before you sign on it. (Funny story: after reading my contract with them, I asked first to go to the CR and pee. I never went back to them and I immediately left the building. I wonder what happened afterwards?)
I have to go yet to Teletech, but after seeing their isolated place at the reclamation area in Pasay City , it made me feel that I'll be working in Saudi or in any secluded desert for that matter.
So there you go, I need your help guys, especially those who are working at call centers. I need your help. Can you suggest to me a call center company with these merits:
1. Pays good.
2. Schedule is flexible, but should still be a full-time job, not part-time.
3. Preferrably in Makati. (God! How I longed to be a Makati boy!) Not in a secluded area yet to be annexed to the Philippines.
4. And should pay good.
5. Oh, did I say it should pay good?
Heeeellllppp!
